Jane Smith

Head Of Production

Jane Smith is Head of Production for Shiver.

Starting her career in post production, Jane became a freelance PM in 1988 and worked on various BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and Discovery Projects before joining ITV as Production Manager in 1998. In 2005 she was promoted to Production Executive and in 2013 was very proud to be made Head of Production at Shiver.

During her career she has made programmes that were shot in the USA, Greece, Outer Mongolia, Alaska, Canada, Spain, and has worked location in the USA, Turkey, Australia, Fiji, and Scandanavia. She has also sailed on a Viking longship with 20 “Vikings”.

She has a track record of launching new formats including “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” and “Hells Kitchen” and was very proudly involved on the first ever “Leaders Debate” and “Exposure – The Other Side of Jimmy Savile”, the programme that lifted the lid on the scandal.

Her current role sees her working closely with the Shiver board. She line manages the Production Management team across all three sites – London, Media City and Leeds, who make 330 hours of television a year both on and off ITV covering everything Factual from “Tonight” to “The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards”, “Come Dine with Me”, and “Paul O’Grady For the Love of Dogs”.

Nicki Schroeder

Head of Business Affairs

Nicki started her ITV career in 2014 in the Compliance department of ITV and spent a period as acting Head of Litigation and Group Intellectual Property before joining the Shiver team in November 2016.

Prior to this, she worked in private practice for 10 years at media law firm Olswang, where she specialised in advising on investigative journalism at all stages pre-publication and defending libel actions, including the North Wales child abuse stories, the “cash for questions” articles concerning Neil Hamilton, and a series of police corruption scandals. More recently she worked as a legal advisor and lobbyist at the News Media Association advising on press regulation post Leveson.

Simon Hedges

Head of Finance

Simon is a qualified accountant who started work at ITV just over 11 years ago. Simon started his career in central finance in Manchester before moving onto programmes as a Production Accountant. After 6 years in this role working across Entertainment, Factual and Comedy, Simon moved onto a Financial Analyst role in Entertainment that included looking after the acquisitions 12Yard and So TV.

Simon joined Shiver in April 2015.

Richard Hastings

Creative Director

Richard leads Shiver’s Factual Entertainment and Formats department in London which makes a range of entertainment and factual series for a variety of broadcasters, including Gino’s Italian Escapes (ITV), Dance Moms UK (Lifetime), Pride of Britain (ITV), Piers Morgan’s Life Stories (ITV), Come Dine with Me (C4), Britain’s Darkest Taboos (C&I Channel), Katie Price: My Crazy Life (Quest Red), Stars in their Cars (Travel Channel).

Before joining Shiver in September 2015, Richard headed the BBC’s Factual Entertainment Development team, where he created formats including Home Away from Home and When I Get Older for BBC One; You Make Me Feel Like Dancing for BBC Two; and Young Talent of the Year and Dads in the Delivery Room for BBC Three.

Richard’s previous credits include; The Big Breakfast, Light Lunch, Late Lunch, Show Me the Money, Take Away My Takeaway and My Kind of Music.

Mark Robinson

Creative Director

Mark leads the Popular Factual side of Shiver across Leeds, London and Salford, which makes key brands such as Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs, Countrywise, The Nation’s Favourites, Unbelievable Moments: Caught on Camera and You Saw Them Here First as well as one-off, high-profile specials like Peter Kay: 20 Years of Funny.

He has executive produced a wide range of projects for Shiver on behalf of ITV, Channel Four, Channel 5 and Sky.

Pioneering shows celebrating our cultural and popular history Mark set up the 100 Greatest format for Channel Four in 1999 and has since looked after The Nation’s Favourite…for ITV, a brand which has revealed the stories behind the songs of icons like Abba, the Bee Gees, Motown, Elvis and The Beatles.

Mark also led the way in the Monday night ITV travelogue slot with series like The Lakes, The Dales, Little England and Tales From Northumberland With Robson Green.

He executive produced all six series of the Rose D’Or nominated daytime – and now international – hit series May The Best House Win and has looked after titles as diverse as Super Tiny Animals and Newsflash – Stories That Stopped The World, Being Poirot and the BAFTA-nominated The Miners’ Strike & Me.

Mike Blair

Head of Consumer and Current Affairs

Mike looks after a number of Current Affairs series for Shiver including Tonight, The Martin Lewis Money Show and Real Stories with Ranvir Singh. As Editor of ITV Current Affairs Mike helped launch the investigative Exposure series on ITV and has looked after several films in the strand. He has also executive produced a number of other documentaries for the channel, most recentlySchool Swap and Myleene Klass: Single Mums on Benefit.

Sally Evans

Executive Producer

Sally has developed and executive produced a wide range of factual and entertainment programmes for ITV, Channel 4 and BBC.

Sally started her career working on high profile shows at the BBC where her credits include  Airport, Children’s Hospital, Honey We’re Killing The Kids, Bank Of Mum & Dad, Question of Sport, Mastermind and Street Doctor

Since joining Shiver, Sally has used her wealth of experience to win a number of commissions including Alexander Armstrong: Land of the Midnight Sun, Strictly Kosher, Hotel in the Clouds, Missing Without Trace, Chatsworth; Gary Barlow: Journey to Afghanistan;  Tales from Northumberland with Robson Green and most recently Car Wars.  She’s also developed and exec’d Ade in Britain, House Hunt in France, Ade At Sea, The Hit Factory : The Stock Aitken & Waterman Story, Hot Tub Britain, Weight Loss Ward, I Married the Waiter: Love in the Sun;  Big Fat Asian Wedding, Meeting My Enemy and most recently Fierce with Steve Backshall and Lady and the Castle.

Mark Scantlebury

Executive Producer

Mark’s role at Shiver is to develop and executive produce a wide range of factual and factual entertainment programming for all the major UK broadcasters.

Prior to joining ITV he worked at the BBC for 8 years working on shows like Crimewatch, Watchdog and as an Editor on the daytime show Kilroy. Mark was head of factual at twofour where he created shows like The Millies; A Night of heroes, Vice Squad for Channel 5 and Road Warriors in Afghanistan for ITV.

At Shiver, Mark has developed and executive produces shows including Paul O Grady: For The Love of Dogs, Paul O’Grady Animal Orphans, I shot.. which was then rebranded as Unbelievable Moments Caught on Camera, Amazing Animal Births with Lucy Cooke, Countrywise, Scotland Yard with Sir Trevor Mcdonald, Gibraltar Britain in the Sun for Channel 5, On the Run with the investigator Mark Williams Thomas, Real Crimes and numerous documentaries like Being Paul Gascoigne for ITV.

Rachel Bloomfield

Executive Producer

Rachel joined Shiver in 2014 where she execs the much loved Channel 4 series Come Dine With Me, Come Dine With Me Couples and Come Dine Champion of Champions.

Rachel began her career in news, working first as a newspaper reporter and then as a TV news producer covering events in Northern Ireland and the Middle East. She then spent 12 years producing factual shows such as House of Horrors, Britain’s Youngest Mums and Dads, Britain’s Youngest Boozers and numerous From Hells, all for ITV, before overseeing popular formats like Young, Dumb and Living Off Mum (BBC3, Hitched (Sky Living), Four In A Bed (C4) and Who’s Doing The Dishes (ITV).

Jeremy Phillips

Executive Producer

As Executive Producer, Jeremy oversees returning peak time ITV shows Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and Pride of Britain Awards. His other ITV projects have included travelogues Alexander Armstrong’s Land of the Midnight Sun and Martin Clunes: Islands of Britain. At Shiver, Jeremy has also been executive producer on projects for broadcasters including National Geographic, Channel 5 and Sky Arts.

Prior to joining ITV, Jeremy made award-winning science and history documentaries for BBC2 and BBC4. He was Series Producer on Big Brother 2, produced film drama Hot Money, starring Caroline Quentin and was Producer/Director on Cutting Edge for Channel 4.

Jeremy was formerly a reporter on the Sunday Mirror and Sun.

Helen Lemon

Production Executive

Helen has worked in TV production at ITV for ten years, and joined Shiver’s Production Executive team in early 2013.  Helen has overseen a diverse programme slate, including our factual entertainment series Paul O’Grady’s Animal Orphans, to investigative documentaries likeExposure, to our hit observational documentary series for Channel 5, Gibraltar: Britain In The Sun.

Helen Houston

Production Executive

Helen has worked at ITV for 12 years across both Entertainment & Factual programming. She has worked on a wide range of production for both internal and external broadcasters including ITV, ITV 2, ITV 3 BBC, C4, C5, National Geographic and Discovery.

Helen was the Production Manager on the highly acclaimed World In Action series 7UP having worked on 49Up and 56Up. She also benefits from ample of cross genre programming having managed Tonight, 60 Minute Makeover, The Jeremy Kyle Show and numerous specialist factual documentaries.

Currently, Helen is Production Executive in Shiver working across their Popular Factual output and her portfolio includes The Leaders’ Debate, Paul O’Grady for the Love of Dogs, Countrywise, Tales from Northumberland and The Nation’s Favourite Brand.

Michelle Matherson

Talent Executive

Michelle is the Talent Executive across Shiver & Label 1 and has staffed up numerous productions by getting the best people in the industry into the ‘Tower’ on the Southbank. Her career has spanned nearly 20 years in production, development, commissioning and talent. Michelle’s editorial credits include RTS award winning Why Stephen? with Charles Wheeler and Blouse & Skirt for BBC2 to directing Radio Drama and producing the TV Drama Writers Festival. Michelle is the Diversity lead for Shiver and on the Diversity Board for ITV

Tracy Walker

Talent Executive

Tracy is an experienced HR professional with a production background and a unique understanding of the entire television process. She has a vast experience of sourcing off screen talent from runners to executive producers for a range of television programmes and is passionate about retaining talent in the North.
