Peter Kay: 20 Years of Funny

20 Years of Funny charted Peter’s life in comedy with clips from his first stand-up appearances in 1995 to his recent BBC series Car Share.

In between the programme revealed Peter’s teenage dreams of a career in comedy with clips of early performances from his time at university in Salford as well as hearing of a surprise letter from his comedy hero Ronnie Barker.

Peter also talked about how some of his career highlights came about – from Phoenix Nights to Britain’s Got The Pop Factor and his record-breaking stand up tour.

Contributions came from friends including Paddy McGuinness, JK Rowling, Matt Lucas, Danny Baker, Reece Sheersmith and Sian Gibson.

Produced and directed by Ali Lynch, Peter Kay: 20 Years of Funny was the latest collaboration between Peter and Shiver Creative Director Mark Robinson, who have worked together since the late Nineties on projects including ITV’s Goodbye Granadaland and Channel 4’s Let’s Get Quizzical with Peter Kay.
