With a third series now filmed, The Dales has become one of the most popular returning series in ITV’s peak-time schedule, regularly bringing in audiences of 4m plus in the Monday 8pm slot.
Each series has seen Yorkshire-born Ade Edmondson follow a Summer in the lives of a number of Dales folk, including mum of six (and counting…) shepherdess Amanda Owen and school boy farmer Phil Mellin.
We see how the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful place to live – but also one of the most challenging places in Britain to work and bring up a family – with the nearest school and hospital often being more than an hour away.
A third series will be on air on ITV this Spring. Ade catches up with Amanda has she shows off her sixth baby, plus we see what happened when The Calendar Girls returned to Yorkshire, and there’s an emotional day in store for a Giggleswick teacher and proud father as his daughter is the star of the show at a very special concert.
The Dales has been series produced by Simon Paintin, Moray London and Sarah Ladbury and executive produced for Shiver by Mark Robinson
